Brooke G Voorhies

Brooke Voorhies, Director of Career and Professional Education for Southwest Louisiana Area Health Education Center.  Brooke has been with SWLAHEC for 6 years in many different roles, mainly working with and coordinating pipeline programs.  Brooke is a strong education professional with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) focused in Social Science.  Before joining the SWLAHEC team, Brooke taught pre-k and Health and Physical Education.  Mom of three (2 boys and 1 girl), Brooke enjoys fresh airing as much as possible and feels like work is like a vacation.  Brooke has been with the AHEC Scholars program since the beginning and she is excited to see where the program takes all of our current and future scholars!

 

Henry Nuss, Ph.D

Henry Nuss, Ph.D., is the South AHEC Director of Testing, Measurement, and Evaluation and Associate Professor at the LSU Health New Orleans School of Public Health. Working with a collaborative team of AHEC staff, local, state and national stakeholders, Dr. Nuss’ efforts have highlighted the effectiveness of AHEC programs in training current and future generations of outstanding healthcare professionals. When he’s not working, Dr. Nuss enjoys raising his two children with his lovely wife and playing golf with his broheims.

 

 

Liz W Tamor

For more than 20 years, Mrs. Tamor facilitates continuing education and information dissemination programs for healthcare professionals, with an emphasis on individuals providing care in underserved areas and for health disparity populations. She also coordinates student programs of Day with Doctors and Day with Allied Health for the southeast portion of the state coordinated with the LSUHSC in New Orleans. Mrs. Tamor works in all areas of the AHEC mission, including student rotations, preceptor development, health career promotion, pipeline development, continuing education and community health initiatives.
